Senior Compensation Consultant

Our employee relationship managers support you throughout your engagement, providing career guidance and reemployment assistance.We are looking for a Senior Compensation Consultant to work a remote Part Time Contract (20-30 hours a week). The candidate must reside in EST or CST time zone. This Contract is slated to go 6 months.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Compensation Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to think and work at both a strategic and operational level, with a roll up their sleeves approach and a strong background in compensation strategy, market analysis, and data-driven recommendations. You will collaborate with HR, leadership, and department leaders to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while aligning with company goals and budget considerations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compensation Strategy Development: Design, build, and implement compensation structures that align with the company's overall business strategy, ensuring competitiveness within the market and internal equity.
- Market Analysis & Benchmarking: Conduct regular compensation benchmarking against industry standards and competitors to ensure compensation packages are competitive and meet market trends.
- Job Evaluation: Analyze roles and responsibilities across departments to assess pay structures, job classifications, and salary ranges.
- Compensation Reporting: Prepare and present compensation analysis reports to leadership, identifying trends, cost impacts, and areas for improvement.
- Pay Equity & Compliance: Ensure that compensation practices adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including pay equity, tax, and wage laws, and advise on compliance strategies.

Incentive Planning: Assist in the development and optimization of incentive plans, bonuses, and other variable pay structures, ensuring alignment with company performance and objectives.
- Employee Education: Provide guidance and support to HR and managers regarding compensation policies, strategies, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective communication.

Data Management: Utilize HRIS and compensation management systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date compensation data, conduct audits as necessary and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Must be familiar with Workday.
- Project Management: Lead or participate in compensation-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality results.
Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or certifications in compensation (e.g., CCP, GRP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in compensation analysis, compensation strategy, or consulting. Experience in the technology industry.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in compensation analysis tools, HRIS systems (Workday), and Excel.

Familiar with compensation benchmarking databases (e.g., Mercer/Comptryx).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Deep understanding of compensation principles, job evaluation methodologies, and labor market trends. Knowledge of legal and compliance requirements in compensation.
Wage Range:
The rate for this position is between $37.50 - $71.50 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
