Junior Technical Architect

Our employee relationship managers support you throughout your engagement, providing career guidance and reemployment assistance.Our client is currently seeking a motivated Junior Technical Architect with CCNA certification to join their team onsite in Houston, TX. This role combines responsibilities in network design, implementation, and operational support for IT network infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking and hands-on experience in managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing network operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Implementation:

Assist in the deployment and configuration of network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) to meet project requirements

Implement network changes and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations
-
Participate in on-site and remote installation, testing, and maintenance of systems
-
Act as interface with vendors for network infrastructure required for implementation projects
-
Coordinate installation timelines, and resource availability with vendors to meet project deadlines
Network Design Support:
-
Collaborate with senior architects to design scalable and efficient network solutions
-
Analyze client requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Documentation:
-
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of network configurations, system architecture, and project workflows
-
Participation in the TTO processes including network diagrams, CMDB, vendor contacts, etc.
Troubleshooting:
-
Identify and resolve network issues during and after project implementation
-
Conduct performance testing and provide optimization recommendations
-
Provide support to Network Operation
Incident Management:
-
Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly, including performance bottlenecks and outages
-
Provide support to and resolve escalated tickets from operations teams.
Client Collaboration:
-
Work closely with clients to ensure smooth project execution
-
Provide technical guidance and support to client teams during and after implementation
Skills and Qualifications:
-
CCNA Certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) required
-
Bachelor's degree or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in networking and IT infrastructure required
-
Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, etc.) required
-
Proficiency with Cisco devices (routers, switches, Wireless, etc.) required
-
Basic level knowledge in program management required
-
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Netbrain, ThousandEyes, etc.) preferred

Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions and VPN technologies preferred
-
Basic knowledge of IT security principles and practices preferred
-
Hands-on experience in Firewall (Palo Alto) for medium / large enterprise organization preferred
-
Able to work under minimal supervision, strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity

Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Reacts open-mindedly to new perspectives or ideas
Wage Range:
The hourly rate for this position is between $40.00 - $49.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
