Communications Specialist

Our employee relationship managers support you throughout your engagement, providing career guidance and reemployment assistance.Our client is currently seeking a qualified Communications Specialist to join their team onsite in Tuskegee, AL and provide support. Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Office of Information Technology, this position is the primary initial contact and representative of the client to the public. The Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for operating the Microsoft telephony software, Microsoft Teams, and other associated equipment. They will receive, transfer and transmit calls, transmit messages, perform related clerical tasks, and perform related duties as required or assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage call queue, auto attendant, recording, transcription, transfer between devices.

Complete calls to outside lines and transfer incoming calls as required.

Capture call data and run reports daily of calls as assigned.

Initiate additions or deletions to client internal Telephone Directory.

Train new part-time or full-time staff, faculty as assigned.

Provide caller information for meetings and other special events.

Review requests for telephone training and assist new staff in telephone system use, including setup and maintenance of voicemail.

Distribute, train, and process requests for cellular phones and desk phones.

Perform other related duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
-
Willing to work after hours based on emergencies, and operational peak periods.

An Associate's Degree with two to three years' experience or an Undergraduate Degree in any discipline.

Three years of experience in the telephony system in a customer service area.

Strong verbal communication skills and welcoming demeanor and tone of voice.

Intermediate level technical computer skills (MS Office Suite) to be able to work and communicate effectively with advanced customers and technical support staff.

High ethical standards and the ability to maintain the confidence of others while working in a dynamic atmosphere.

Must be able to sit / or stand and work at a computer/use the telephone for long periods.
- Occasional lifting required.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus.

Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail are other important aspects of this position.

Ability to apply new telephone technologies (Cellular and desk) to dynamic office requirements.
Wage Range:
The rate for this position is between $15.38 - $24.50 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
